Marcus
Marcus wakes up. He's having a dream where he's having the best sex in his life (19 roll on a d20) unfortunately its with Sheree. When they're done she explains to him that he will be responsible for the Northern Army, which is quickly moving into Second Kingdom Territory.The biggest problem she says is that the forces of the Second Kingdomare burning crops and such and so the people they are encountering are going to starve come winter.

Sheree wants Marcus to straighten out the Northern Army for them. She also discusses with him that he will have to betray his friends before he can fully come over to her side but once he does she will call him lord and master.

Brock
Brock has been working on the chain that attaches him to the weight around his ankle. He's very close to getting it off when a sheesh party comes to the lip of the pit. They help Brock out of the hole and take him to an abandoned stable (sheesh are afraid of horses so the stable is empty). Brock is introduced to a human named Sharkey. He runs the local pit fights for the sheesh. It's his job to make sure the sheesh are entertained. He offers to get Brock out of the pit if he will fight in the arena. Brock agrees and takes the brand of the Ming I tribe of sheesh on his arm. When he recovers he's unshackledbut wearing a leather collar that is chained to the wall. He has plenty of room to move around and there is straw on the floor insteadof mud. Exhausted he lays down and goes to sleep.

Scalla
Scalla finds herself back in the metal chair. She has iron nails driven through her arms, pinning her to it. Goln Vay the Storm Walker hovers in front of her, saying that eventually she will serve the power of the dragon ring. Scalla taunts him asking if he likes working for Distaria. Goln's reply is that he only serves and does not like or dislike. He obeys the power of the ring, as she will soon do as well.

Morgan
Morgan is pretty sure that at this point she isn't talking to the real Tandy. When he leaves again she peeks under the tent and sees that she is in the middle of a sheesh encampment. She throws a spell and communes with her goddess. From the communion she is told that she shouldn't kill the fake Tandy. She should travel to Deserata and confront Distaria, but she will die if she goes to Deserata.

Fin
Fin is brought to the tent to play music for Marcus and Sheree. Sheree is talking to Marcus when one of her elvish slave women comes and does something that annoys her. Sheree begins to kick the compliant woman around the floor. Sheree turns to Marcus and tells him that it's his turn to administer the punishment. She hands him a thick rod and tells him to beat the woman with it. Marcus refuses and tries to attack herwith the rod. Sheree pulls a dagger and Marcus manages to get it from her. Sheree motions for her sword, which flies from its storage space and into her hand. Marcus takes a few swings at her then runs out of the building.

Once outside Marcus sees that the house is right in the middle of the sheesh army. He runs this way and that but is unable to get clear of the beasts. Eventually after exhausting his escape efforts he surrenders to Sheree when she comes for him.

Fin
In side the house Fin looks around for some method of escape. He tries to communicate with the elvish woman but she doesn't appear to understand him.

Scalla
GolnVay is joined by another Storm Walker named Mirska. Together they assault Scalla's soul, Ripping it to pieces, despite the mages best attempts to resist. Torn and bleeding she is left for a while. Much later some of her strength returns but she realizes that the creatures are wearing her down and slowly turning her into one of them. She calls again for Chaldisaya.

Garu
Garu is brought from the hole and walked around the sheesh army to help their morale. As the elf catches glimpses of the elvish kingdom across the river he is able to pierce some of the glamour places upon it. He see's that in reality parts of the forest have been burned down.

Marcus
Marcus is brought back in to the room. He's told he has to do as ordered or he will be punished. He is ordered to beat the elvish maid.This time he complies. He tells Sheree that beating up women isn't his thing. Instead he says he's meant to kill things and if given the chance he would gladly kill something. With a gleam in her eye Sheree agrees to arrange it.

Morgan
Morgan is pondering her goddess's words when Tandy come back in. He's making some small talk with her when a gate opens in the air and a fur clad figure steps into the room. The figure raises a gun and fires it repeatedly into Tandy sending him flying across the room bleeding fromseveral well placed shots.The figure then tosses the gun to the ground and comments that she's always hated guns. The woman is Estelle Argentium also known as the Silver Sorceress.

Thirty years ago Morgan took her place as a target for some killers. She had come to repay the favor Morgan did then. She offers to teleport her out of the encampment. Given her choice of where to go Morgan chooses towards Deserata, where she will face Distaria. Estelle comments, "Better to go in on your feet than to bedragged."

Scalls
Scalla wakes up again and see's a figure approaching from the darkness. Thinking that it's Goln Vie. She steels herself for an attack. Instead of the Storm Walker she see's that it's the goddess Chaldisaya. The goddess looks worn and fragile. She tells Scalla that she has come to save her.

They talk and the goddess laments the limitsof her powers. She says, "I cannot save all of you". Scalla takes this to mean the rest of the party, she agrees and the goddess takes her hand. As she pulls a ghostly form comes from Scallas body while Scalla watches. Chaldisaya says that she has pulled her sprit self out of her body. Chaldisaya says that she could not save all of her; she was onlyable to save her faith. She rechristens scallas spirit form Karieen,which means "Lantern in the Dark" and sets her in the desert to make her way as a servant of the Lady.

Jump 300 years in the future. Roscoe The Toughest Hobbit in the World is sleeping in his coffin.Until recently he was a servant of the last stand of humanity but he was captured by the dark forces and made into one of them.The lid of his coffin opens and before he can rise a flaming hand reaches into the box and pins him to the inside of it. Although the fire is hot it doesn't burn him. His mouth is pried open and a strange potion is poured down his throat. Spitting and sputtering he sits up and sees a woman made of flames standing over him in the dark coffin strewn catacomb.The woman speaks in a low voice, "300 years ago in the time of the light, when I was 13 you saved me from the very undead you have become. I am returning the favor, but you must help me again…you must help me in my becoming". The sorceress opens a gate just as the undead in the room are waking up. The two of them step through.They are standing in a trackless desert . The Burning Witch gestures,"Deserata, as it was. Roscoe you must help me again." Before the hobbit can ask, the flame woman is gone. Roscoe hears the sound of labored breathing. Going over the rise he finds a young girl attempting to crawl over the stony ground. The girl is covered with burns and is barely recognizable as human. Carefully he drags her to the clearing where he appeared. Rummaging around in the packs he attempts to save her life.

Marcus
Marcus is lead to the pit where the sheesh have gladiatorial entertainment. In the pit are two other elf women. They are tied tos teaks in the ground. Around the edge of the pit are Garu, Brock andFin; at Fins feet is the elf woman Marcus was beating. Marcus takes a step into the pit and weighs the sword he has been given. With a grin he falls on his own sword Sheree's screams and runs to him. But he is dead before she reaches him. Across the pit Garu sees the beaten woman's face, the face of his future bride (from his dreams,) She says something but it s drowned out by the sheesh screams and yells. It is the time of the sheesh; they bang their swords across their shields. The 1000-year long night has begun.
