Adventure Log #36

THE CHARACTERS
Serrif-Future lord of Mountain Vale and soon to be married to a woman he's known for three weeks.
Esnith-She is traveling to Mountain Vale because her boyfriends are the brothers and cousins of Serrifs Bride.
Kimmi-She has become part of the new lords companions.
Fin McCool. Fin is a bard going to Mountain Vale to perform at the wedding.
Brack. Brack is a male martial artist trying to find a place to study his art.
Goro. Goro is an elf archer. He's new on Avalyn.

Notable NPC's Mauge of Dunshine-Mauge is Serrifs bride to be.

Alexander Sailon-Commander of the Empire's forces in Mountain Vale. He is a member of the royal family (far removed). He hates being under the command of Lord Serrif who doesn't have a drop of royal blood in his body.

Janna-The caravan master that brought the characters to Mountain Vale. She as been also asked to keep an eye on Goro.

Last Time Serrif and Alexander decide not to fight it out with their armies to determine who controls Mountain Vale. Serrif agrees to do what Alex says since he has more experience ruling. This Time The group arrives at the manner house just as Kenna Alexes men finishe removing everything that wasn't nailed down.

As they take a walk through they see that they're going to have to aquire an entire house of furnishings. Kenna Alex rides up and tells Serrif that he has an apointment with the villages leaders (the men's council and the women's circle for later on that day.

As part of their deal Alex tells Serrif that he needs to inform the council that any soldiers that are not in the ranks by the end of the day shall be declaired outlaw and will be executed and that he (Serrif) will be raising the housing tax 2 pennies.

Most of the party walks around the village for a while before deciding that there's not really much to buy. A couple of the characters order some arrow heads from the blacksmith. They learn that if there really looking for equipment they should check out the weekly market that will be held day after tomorrow.

Serrif eventually meets with the council. They are somewhat disturbed by the increase of the housing tax from 3 pennies to 5.

In the follwing day the locals all pitch in and provide furniture for the lords house. Mauges brother stops by and inquires about the wedding. He lets it drop that the marriage will need to be consumated in front of witnesses as per Second Kingdom customer. Serrif isn't fazed in the least. The next day against tradition NOTHING bad happens before Serrifs wedding....Serrif consumated his marriage vows and then is hustled down stairs to take part in the marriage feast...Mauge being only the wife wasn't invited.
