Adventure Log #42

Kimmi-Manthootian warrior-Kevins Friend and maybe his pimp
Fionn Mac Roa-Bard about town-The closest thing to a mage the party has.
Brock-Monk-Until recently the only problem he had was getting killed in a month. His problems have gotten worse.
Garu-Elf Archer-Won't leave the local priest alone.
Jagvoc Mercy-Priest-Has been adopted by the Red Hats for saving their leader.

Sub Alt Leader Byash-Detailed to watch for trouble at the Mound.

So the plan is that the characters are going to journey to The Mound (also called the Blister) and go inside it. They are to make the way safe for a group of specialists who will plant a charge at the wooden gate deep in the dungeon. The characters will then find the nexus gate that is open and close it. The party stays the night in Mountain Vale before setting out.

Vyord presents Jagvoc Mercy with some potions in gratitude for the priest saving his sister's life. Kevin and Kimmi go back to The Griffin ( the local inn they stay at). Kimmi is approached by the bar keep with an offer (No! not that kind of offer. ) He has noticed that Kimi seems to have quite a bit of money. He asks her to invest in the inn since he feels that the village is going to grow rather rapidly. He wants to borrow some money to cover an addition to the Inn. Kimmi agrees and they will have the paper notarized by the Voc at a later date.

Kevin see's Paladin Marcus in the bar. The Paladin is escorting a local group of villagers to Mountain Vale for market day. Kevin asks Marcus if he will join them since all manner of monsters have crawled out of The Mound. Marcus agrees even though he has had a dream that he will die in The Mound (the dream took place in the far future...so he's probably safe).

The next day the group sets out for the 6-hour walk to The mound. On the way they get attacked by Sheesh. The battle goes well for the party (in part due to Paladin Marcus). They find some mickle magic and dress their wounds and continue. They arrive in the evening at the encampment of part of the 20th Infantry.

They have diner with the Sub Commander Byash. Who tells them that most everything is under control. Some Sheesh are escaping from the mound but so far they've been able to handle most. The party retires for the night. Byash asks Kimmi to stay behind and asks her to bend over the table so he can have sex with her. Kimmi tells him she's probably not that kind of girl. Byash tells her that he has three brothers (Manthootian females want to have sons)and they have mostly sons. Kimi is tempted but says "no", she came to The Mound to rid it of monsters. Byiash is embarrassed, he tells her that he thought she was one of the local Manthootinas that knew about his brothers and such. Kimmi makes a coy refusal. When Kimi gets back to their tent she tells Kevin about the offer Byiash made. Kevin tells her that it would be best that she not get pregnant. When she asks why Kevin tells her that before he met her the Sorcerer Madrigar told him about some of her background...information that she doesn't even know, things that happened when Kim was in the service of the Evil Queen. Kimmi decides no to push the matter and they go to sleep.

The next morning they head into The Mound. A they near the old holding cells (the characters have been down here before) they are attacked by a group of undead. Kimmi is paralyzed and Brock goes to her rescue. Jagvoc Mercy uses the power of his god to send alot of the undead running while Fin and Kevin face off with a couple of the higher types. In the melee Fin gets touched by one of the creatures and feels the things unlife enter his body. The battle is soon ended and except for Fin most everyone is soon back up to snuff.
