Paladin Marcus gets a visitor. It’s Van Sheree (Lady Sheree). She says that she saw Aki in the village and figures that the party can’t be too far behind so she stopped in.
She informs Marcus that she was behind the coup earlier and that she fell under the shadow of the Dark Lady and has decided to make the best of it. She tells him that even though she had been sent to kill him she won’t. She feels that he is a coward and than in telling him that Deserata is going to invade in two days will force him to run away. If he runs away she explains it will do great harm against the PC cause by making future allies wary of the PC’s sincerity.
Of course if Marcus stays Sheree says he will be captured and brought before the Dark Lady and corrupted as she was.

The party sort of decides to go and find Aki then leave the city after having a note delivered about the impending attack in the next couple of days. As the party makes its way to where Aki was last seen they see signs of an attack massing in the forest around the city. They get to the building and find it abandoned. Searching inside they find a semi-permanent gate.

After much discussion the party went through the gate. Unfortunately the world beyond was so horrifying that the characters had to make a save vs. Feebleminded. Two of the party members Scalla and Marcus missed their rolls and were reduced to Int 3.

On the other side of the gate was a pocket universe, a trail leading to a building (6 miles away) as well as leading to another gate 6 miles away on the other side of the building.
Serrif and Estryellia watched as a group of black humanoids leapt towards them. The battle was very touch and go with Estryellia going to 0 HP and a couple of lost levels from other members of the party. After using a healing scroll on Estryellia the party marched to the building (but didn’t enter it due to a fear of more monsters inside). After entering the other gate they found themselves back in time.

They figured that they were back in the time, the time Aki was having dreams about. They saw in the valley below the battle between the Manthootians and the Magadrillians (which precluded the wizards attempt to destroy the world). Before they could do anything they were approached by a lone rider (Who looked similar to the person who stole Aki).

The person turned about to be a form of ancient ranger. The ranger was there to investigate and close the gate. Although they wanted to stay the ranger escorted them back through the gate. On the way back they investigated the building and found the sleeping Aki. After rescuing her they returned to the normal world and the ancient ranger closed the gate behind her, leaving them alone on the regular plane.
Outside the characters heard the start of the battle for Stephens Hold.
