Adventure Log #43

THE CHARACTERS

Kimmi-Manthootian warrior-Has a secrect that she doesn't even know.
Fionn Mac Roa-Bard about town-The closest thing to a mage the party has. Suffering a negative level.
Brock-Monk-Until recently the only problem he had was getting killed in a month. His problems have gotten worse.
Garu-Elf Archer-Boil for 30 minutes spread over rice....Mmmmm thats good eating
Jagvoc Mercy-Priest
Kevin-Manthootian Archer-Kimmies friend. Thinks he Legolas. Knows Kimmi's secrect. Marcus-Paladin-Returning from a long hiatus.

NPC's of Note: Jahn-Guild Mage-Uses a potion then leaves.

Story so far:
The party is adventuring in a underground warren called The Mound. Their job is to find the open nexus gate and close it .

So the party heals up a bit after the fight with the undead. Fin has had some of his life force leeched away by one of them. The party continues down the corridor. After fighiting some basilisks (and unstoning Jag Voc Mercy) they move on. Marcus and Kevin look around but find nothing except for the bodies of Duysaya's victims...then the group moves on, "Heck of a girlfirend you got there Brock".

The party rounds the corner to the big room. The door is still in place. "Boy I hate that door", says Jag voc Mercy. The group takes up defensive positions just as a yellow cloud comes billowing out from behind the door. Kimi is overcome and goes down choking to death. Garu uses a spell to keep it at bay but the vile gas boils past his archane defenses and hits Fin who then goes down and is poisioned to death by the cloud. The rest of the party has head down the hallway when the cloud dissapates and a horde of sheesh come running after the adventurers.

Paladin Marcus makes short work of the creatures when another wave of the foulspawn hit the the party as it's fighting it's way towards the open door. Arrows fly and the beasts go down. Two large Man-sheesh run out of the door and attack, there is a groaning noise and out of the doors comes a large Gran Sheesh which nearly fills the chamber.

Jagvoc Mercy is felled. Brok fights one of the larger Man Sheesh while Kevin and Garou take the other. Paladin Marcus steps up and surverys the giant and they fight. Brok and the sheesh trade blows. No matter how fast the monk is he doesn't seem to be able to score a good hit on the beast. Kevin and Garu are puched back into the hall. Both are bloodied and near death and the monster seems just as strong as ever. The paladin and the giant trade blows but as the giant fights it's wounds begin to heal themselves. There can only be on ending to this war of attrition.

Brok lands a solid blow and the creature is staggered then it falls on it's face dead. Brok sees that the Paladin is more dead than alive and decides to help with the giant, even though he knows that one hit from the monster will kill him. He jumps into combat and the giant lands a blow just where he was just standing. The Paladin is heartened by the bravery of the monk and hearing the screams of Kevin and Garu as they fight the other monster in the hall he steps in for a final blow. The Paladin strikes and the creature goes down. The thing in the hallway breaks off and runs away. After healing and using the ritual of The Shining One" all of the party members are restored to life....The door in front of them is open and they have to go in.
