Serif wakes up being ministered to by the valet of the second Sub Alt Leader. He introduces himself. Before they can have a proper conversation they hear the uproar from the river and make their way out to she what’s happening. One the other side of the river (Myotian territory) three large stone statures have rolled into place on the other bank of the river. Each statue must weigh several tons each is sculpted to resemble Sadakadishian Lion-Dogs. The two alts of soldiers enter the earthworks and prepare for battle. The first of the statues begins to enter the water. It barely gets it’s front rollers in the water when suddenly a waterspout gathers out of the river. Aki fearing it’s so evil creature and tires to banish it but is over powered by its defenses. Ignoring the priestess the creature picks up the juggernaut and crushes the stone behemoth in its arms, leaving the stone fragments where they fall. The water spout takes on the form of a Manthootian woman turns and brushes a finger over Aki’s back then disappears back into the river.

The show of magic on their side heartens the troops who all give a big cheer for which ever god they worship. The other two other statues stand where they are on the shore as if nothing has happened. The party spends some time discussing this and waiting for Aki to wake up embarrassed at attempting to dispel her goddess. Out of the confusion of the front lines staggers Paladin Marcus (who disappeared several months/continents ago).

Serif and Scala are happy to see Marcus as is Estryellia (he’s married to her sister). After swapping hellos Marcus tells the party that he’s been fine doing the Lady’s work far away. The other night he had a horrible dream after which he found himself here. The party fills him in on the situation here in Mountain Vale. When they mention the Blister Marcus gets excited saying that is where his dream took place. In his dream he was the one of the last warriors trying to get into the blister to shut the gate that was there down. He said that his dream was 300 years in the future and he wanted to try to shut the gate down now to prevent his needing to do it again in the future. Scala and Estryellia relate to him the couple of missions that have been led into the Blister and what they found. Scala mentioned that she had used some of her magic to block the gate area and keep the Sheesh that were coming out from attacking the village.

The party once again makes it’s way to the blister this time their way is blocked by a group of Thaug. Estryellia is knocked unconscious but the creatures are driven away and soon the group arrives at the blister. Journeying down into the depts. The group once again confronts the gate. After some debate a small expedition heads through the portal. Once beyond they find themselves atop a tower out in a wasteland. The courtyard contains 14 more gates. After some study of them they determine that one of them goes to the time before the barrier (entering it will trap the person with the creatures there) and another is clear like a window, in it stands Tinuella, Brains wife. The rest of the gates are active but cloudy. Various characters step thought the gates to try and find what's on the other side. Several lead to places with cities in the distance while others are in cold dark caves. In one case the gate leads to an underwater cavern while in another the gate overlooks a vast interior jungle.

Brian has taken the globe that has the figurine of his wife in it. When it is pressed against the gate threshold it slowly enters and the gate begins to go black, before the blackness covers his hand he lets go of the globe and his hand is free but the globe remains on the others side of the portal. All of the characters in the gate area hear the voice of Jkennis Distaria gloating that the key to Trier has been given to her. The party has had enough for the day and makes their way back to the town.
