The group is making its way to the city of Stephens Hold after freeing the village of Gol from the clutches of the vampire lord Modoris. The party had originally expected to be gone no more than a week or so but was delayed several months equipping and training the cities garrison. The priestess Arc Morgan a regular member of the party had stayed behind to help guide the newly founded temple of Chaldisaya in Gol.

On the way to Stephens Hold the party is attacked by creatures that look like Displacer Beasts. Aki is knocked unconscious by one of the creatures, just as the combat is ending an armored humanoid rides in and snatches Aki off of the ground and rides off into the forest with her. Despite Kebridanes best efforts the mysterious stranger and Aki were lost from their sight.
The party continues to Stephen Hold looking for Aki. Scrying tells them that she is underground somewhere. In the town the party rents a couple of rooms and finds that the city is full of races that normally don’t get along, all apparently living amongst each other without fighting.

The Kenna (Baron) tells Marcus in secret that his sister is in league with Deserata and that he would like the Paladins help in getting rid of her. The Kennis takes a shine to Serif and asks if he will help with her plot to kill her brother since he is evil. Serif declines and the party is conflicted as to who two help since both seem to be pretty evil.
