Adventure Log #48

The Characters
Fionn Mac Roa-Bard about town...but this isn't a town.

The party is trying to reach the elf lands so Van Scalla can be free of the influence of the Dragon Rings power. Also they are taking a communication device called a lattice to the elves so that they can be in touch with the human kingdom of New Deserata. The characters have been traveling through the Endless Forest of the Gods for a week.

The person in front of them (wearing the antlers) tries to run away. Garu calls up the spirit of nature and to entangle it in it's thorns. Just as he's finishing that several wood-covered creatures step out of the nearest trees and give battle. Later in the combat a thing that looks like an ent also attacks.

The party is battered but soon healed and they adventure on. There is speculation that the entlike thing was what was making the tracks they saw earlier. That night several of the characters have strange dreams.

Dream One: GaruGaru unleashes an arrow into the woods. Around him are a group of elves all dressed alike. One of the elves tells him that it's time they were moving. When Garu asks what is going on the elf gives him a quizzical look and says that they're the rear guard. He says that it's time they moved on since he swore to his sister that he would bring him back in one piece.

Dream Two: MercyJagvoc Mercy wakes up in a nice cozy bed. There is a knock at the door. Mercy feels tired and achy as he gets out of bed. A young Second Kingdomer is at the door. He tells Mercy to come quick. As Mercy makes his way across the field he notices that the buildings of Mountain Vale have gotten more numerous.

He's joined by Maugs brother who looks very old. As they get to the edge of the village they see a group of elves making their way out of the trees, one of whom looks like Garu. Out of the forest rides a figure all in armor except for it's back where the wings protrude. The figure rides up to them and tells Mercy that he has a score to settle with the priest.

Dream Three: ScallaScalla wakes up in a golden pavilion. She notices that her skin is black and her finger and toe nails have been painted red. A creature enters. It's a true man (White hair and black skin). It names itself as Simon. It informs Van Scalla that the last of the humans have been cleared out of the valley. The war leader of the humans wishes to parley.

Scalla makes her way to a clearing in the woods and meets the war leader alone, it turns out to be Jun. He looks much older and is a mass of scars. He greets her and tells her that he and his men will hold the high passes through the mountains against them. After Scalla speaks Jun tells her that he's aware of her lies and that she is trying to mock him by wearing the silvered tongue of priestess Morgan on a chain around her neck to their meeting.

Despite or because of their dreams they push on. The surprise a patrol of piasheesh and destroy it. As they move further they notice that the forest is thinning. They come to a clear area and in the middle of it they see a small fortress. All kinds of monsters are around it working to improve it's defenses. As they watch a black figure is seen on the highest tower. It screams in a piercing tone that is heard over everything else, the creature points towards the hidden party and all the monsters in the clearing stop what they were doing and look their way
