The caravan continues it's way to Mountain Vale after leaving the village of Kidda. They soon lose the good road and have to slow down because of the wagons. Serrif who had been in a fever state recovers and the group recounts the fight with the orcs last time. As they travel they take stock of the force accompanying them, there are:
50 Second Kingdom Medium Horse led by Mauge's Brother.
100 Second Kingdom Light horse attached to Mauges brothers group.
75 Daughthers of Daudman who are under the command of Serrifs wife-to-be Mauge. Daudman is a Red Hat local god.
50 Manthootian Archers of the Red Isle Hearth sort of under the command of Kevin
5 Deseratan artillerlyists. Who are being sent to Mountain Vale allong with their artillery piece to reinforce the garrison.
As the days slowly pass by the characters have little bits of things to do. Kimi sexes up the elf who has never had sex with a Manthootian before. Fin is trying to thing of a good song to sing at the wedding and although Esnith has sexed every one of in the cavelry contingent she takes time to complain about the noise the elf and the Manthootian are making while she is trying to sleep.
A few days from their destination they are met by a messenger from Mountain Vale. It seems that Alexander Sailon (the commander of the garrison of Mountain Vale) has decided that he will be it's new lord and he asks that Serrif surrender himself. Of course Serrif doesn't agree and the messenger is sent back. Maugs brother wants to ride in with his cavelry and put the village to the torch but his is tempered by Serrif and Maug. Both Mauge and her brother are shocked to see that Goro is an elf and they comment that they might get "elf disease" from him.
As the caravan approaches Mountvale they see the town garrion arrayed in front of them. Taking a detailed look the party spots the following:
100 Deseratan Medium Infantry
70 Irregular cavelry
30 archers
50 Irrregular Infantry
There are some other units hidden in the trees. The two groups spend most of the morning parlying eventually Voc Serrif, his companions (the other characters) and Kenna Alexander agree to meet in neutral ground. Alexander lays his cards on the table and says that he knows that Serrif doens't want to be in Mountain Vale and so he offers a deal. Let him Serrif "appear" to run Mountain Vale when in reality Alexander will call ths shots. After much wrangling a comprimise that made no one happy was reached but the battle was called off.
