Avalyn Adventure # 87 What is found……

Marius-Paladin
Kimi-Rogue
Arashi Iki-Druid
Kaden-Fighter
Alan-Fighter

Alan the fighter materializes on the world. He finds himself standing in a forest with a beautiful woman dressed all in blue. She tells him that she is the goddess Chaldisaya and brought him to the world to fight an ancient evil called Distaria (The Voice from the East.)

As they are talking Alan notices that the woman has six fingers on each hand. She bids him good night and leaves him alone in the forest.

After wandering around for a while Alan comes upon a lone house. Knocking on the door he is introduced to the party. The group is discussing what’s happening with Arashi. They decide to outfit the next day and then head into the hills in the south to look into the mysterious deaths.

Alan tells the brief story about what he found when he arrived and paladin Marius is intrigued (Chaldisaya is his goddess.) The paladin and some of the party think that there are problems with Alan’s story. Marius points out that Chaldisaya doesn’t usually appear with six fingers. Unable to answer the questions the party beds down for the night.

The next morning is Welock, the traditional market day so the party goes into the village to buy things. Kimi introduces some of the new people to the local cuisine and Arashi buys a rock that appears to have eyes on it.

They meet up with Kenna Alexander. He is escorting the woman that Alan saw last night through the market. Introductions are made and she is introduced as Kennis Kelly Raider/Sailon one of the daughters of the legendary Sylvia Sailon the Jkennis and patron saint of the kingdom.

They leave the market and Marius now understands what happened, both he and Kimi relate that Kennis Kelly is know to be more than a bit mad…often proclaiming herself a goddess in her own right.

The party loads up and heads into the south looking for both the killer of Kenna Alexander’s men and the possible location of the woman from Arashi’s dream.

Most of the day is spent climbing up the cliffs and following game trails that lead to nowhere. As the evening draws near they come across what looks like a cave, when they enter it they notice that it’s actually just a shallow overhand that hides a small valley.

In the valley they see an abandoned miner’s cabin and that the walls of the valley are lined with mines. As they get closer they see that one of the trees has been sculpted to look like a giant tree monster. The party fans out to look for treasure.

Alan finds a slag pile and begins to dig though it, he finds a body. The corpse is slightly bloated and has black orbs for eyes. Kaden suggests in strong language that they burn it just as Alan uncovers another one.

Kaden finished building a pyre and now there are several bodies from the slag heap. They throw them in to the flames and one comes alive and attempts to crawl out of the flames, but is consumed by the fire before it can get out.

As the last of the day light fades from the valley the party sees many people coming out of the mines, black smoke comes out of their mouths like dark tongues. In the entrance to the valley a creature that looks like the Kenna’s son rises from the ground and blocks the parties retreat.
