Going into the partally collapsed tower the characters uncover a passageway into the mountain. The passage floor is made of rotted wooden planks that threaten to break with each step. Right in the passageway they come across a hole in the floor, which opens into a dark chasm, moving past it the party goes deeper. Kimi points out where the flooring is unsafe, but misses one and falls threw the floor. With one hand she catches the lip of the hole and is pulled out with help from Kaden and Violet. Of the two passages, one ends in a collapsed roon while the other just deadends. Despirt Kimi’s searching she doesn’t find any secrect passages, the party heads back.
Back in outside they find that the soldiers were attacked by thaug, none of the soldiers were killed but five, including Jonah have been injured by black darks the thaug threw. They decide to send the wounded back and press on. The characters form up on Kaden and move towards the tunnel under the waterfall and almost imeditly begin being peppered with darts, they retreat and make a plan. The idea is that they will rush as close to the tunnel as possible, Grevin will throw a fireball into the tunnel to suppress the dart thrower then the party will rush the hole.
The characters get within range of darts but now are thrown, suddenly rocks are rolled down from the cliff above, doing some damage to Kaden and critically injuring one of the Silver Bracers. No sooner are the party finished dodging the rocks than several thaug speing from above while another volley of darts hit them. The fight is quick but deadly as one of the soldiers is eviscerated. Kaden is critically injured but the thaug are put down.
Bloodied the characters think of their next move.

Avalyn Adventure #99 “Burn it down”
Grevin-Mage
Kaden-Fighter
Kimi
Violet-Bard
The are considering burning the mill down. A soldier is sent back to the manor to get orders. Kimi and Kaden decide to climb to the second floor of the mill and look into the windows, the black tar substance keeps them from looking in so they break a window, as the light shines in they see thousands of the strange black beetles skittering away and two large pale wet things undulating on the floor as if they were laying eggs. Freaked out Kimi and Kaden climb down and want to burn the mill down then and there. Jona, the Harker and a couple of cavalry troops arrive and tell the party that the Kenna wants them to “clear” the mill. The party decides that Alexander doesn’t realize how badly yhe mill is infested and head back to talk to him.
Grevin stays on watch with the soldiers, he and Jonah talk, he tells the mage that there was another infestation of Thaug about 7 years ago. Grevin asks about how they were dispatched but all Johna can tell his is that they uncovered a few thaug but probally didn’t get them all. Johna says that the mill looks a lot like a place he found during the first infestation, it also was full of bodies and right near the water. Jonah leads Grevin on a tour around the perimeter. Johah tells Grevin that theyre being watched from the river.
The characters talk to Kenna Alexander and eventually persuade him to allow the mill to be burned down. When they arrive back Grevin tells them about what Johna said. A fire is started and without incident the mill is burned down.
The party decides to head back to Kimi’s for a rest. In the middle of the night there is a knock at the door, it’s Johna the Harker. He tells the characters that after they left he followed the river downstream and up into the hills. After looking around he realized he was being stalked. He was able to lose his pursuer, he feels that the characters should head up into the hills.
The next day the party goes and talks to Kenna Alexander about Johna’s find. He allows them to take a group of soldiers with them up into the hills along with a couple of Silver Bracers (elite soldiers).
After several hours of following the river they head up into the hills along the cascading water. In one of the hillsides they see an overgrown keep and go to investigate it. The building had been partly covered by an avalanche and the insides are little more than a shell. Looking around Kimi finds a covered passage into the hillside. The party debates what their next move should be.

He lands and surveys the area (in bird form) he notices that the fore was set and the thauge are still there waiting for the characters to come running out of the house into a trap. Carefull not to be seen he heads back and tells the characters about the trap.

Marius-Paladin
Kimi-Rogue
Alan-Fighter
Violet-Bard
Grevin-Dwarf Mage
Kaden-Fighter
The characters continue down the path towards the town, They are met by a contingent of soldiers and escorted back to the Kenna. On the way the sholdiers tell about the “Black Demons” that have attacked the town in the last couple of days , the characters realize that some of the thauge had gotten into the mine ahead of them.
When they get the Kenna Alexander he is in the middle of a meeting. When he is done he waves them over. He tells them that he is glad they are okay. The party enquires where the representative of the Wharpick Mages Guild is cause they have a thauge head for him. Alexander points to the far wall where they see two thauge bodies hung up one is missing it’s head. He tells them that they have a thauge head and they will probally have a problem selling it to the mages guild, however since they risked their life he will buy it since the guild will not .
He tells them that a few days ago a dozen or so the creatures stormed though the villages. They have killed several people and as a result he has put a curfew on the town.
The characters tell Kenna about what happened to paladin Marius, the Kenna prepares a message to go the Sylvias Rest. When asked why he isn’t asking the mages guild or the manthootians for help, he tells them that their help comes with “strings” and he would would rather not incure more debt to them.
The characters make their way back to Kimi’s house, mindfull of the parties of roving solders. After settling in there is a knock at the door, it’s Van Rhe and her bodyguards, they seem to be a bit on edge. Rhe enters and greets the characters before getting into her message. She thanks Kimi for letting her read her friend Kevin’s books of lore. She says that she has a good idea where she needs to go if she wished to attempt to resurrect her son.
Kaden asks her why she doesn just go to the church for a scrolls or the priestess in the manthootian village. Rhe tells them what she puzzled out from Kevin and Madrigar’s (her son’s) writing. When Madrigar was born he was taken from her and when he was returned he has a series of glowing jewels on his forehead. The jewels gave his special powers. It was later she found out that it maked him as a Lesser Lord of The Stary Sky, a shadowy group of an ancient order. In his writings he mentiond that the jewel made him nearly immortal. When he discovered that the Jkennis (Queen) of Deserata was also a member he was worried because she was decidedly evil. As he found out that how evil she was he grew worried that there would be an immortal on the throne who was aligned with the dark gods.
Madrigar hatched a plot after he discovered an ancient Truemage weapon embodied in the form of a young woman named Esnith. After subjecting her to a battery of tests he inlisted the help of a young earth mage. Together they bound Esnith and were able to assert some control over her. In the meantime Madrigar cultivated a friendship with the Jkennis Distaria. He promised that he would deliver the weapon. Madrigar tricked the Jkennis into lowering her defenses and he unleased part of Esniths power. The attack destroyed the Jkennises jewel but also killed him. She explaines that is the reson she cannot simply resurrect him. She has found refences to a Lords of the Starry Sky city in the north.
Kimi tells Rhi that she is happy that Kevin’s library has been able to help her but there was a price. Rhi tells her that she is aware of the price and has done some research on the matter of Kimi’s family. She tells her that it would be better if Kimi didn’t know. Kimi insists she be told.
Rhi takes Kimi aside and tells her the story. She tells Kimi of the time when the Manthootian Combie allied itself with Jkennis Distaria, the leaders of the triumberate were Anton Modoris, Grildo of the 13 Sons and Volo of Ravenspear. Modoris was destroyed by a group adventurers at the town of Gol. Later Grildo was also killed. Because of these defeats the Manthootian Combine withdrew from the alliance.
Distaria was driven into a fit of anger. She summoned Volo and his twin sister Kimi to her. When they arrived Distaria had the sister put to death. Distaria then remouled Volo’s flesh into that of a female (the worst thing for a Manthootian male) and drove him insane. Eventually she took Volo’s memory and made him believe that he was “Kimi.”
Kimi is shaken by this information, she asks Rhe who she knows this and Rhe simply states that she was there for some of it when she had been captured by Distaria. Kimi goes to her room to think about the gravity of the revelation.
Later Kimi comes out and tells the other characters what she has found out, she says that it doesn’t make a difference to her since this is all she knows and remembers. When asked if she is going to try to get her correct personality back she merely states that she is “simply” Kimi and will remain so.
The party decides to talk to Rhe again later about joining taking her up on her offer for joining her on the adventure. When she returns they quiz her about how much loot there will be, she tells them she’s not sure. The party decides to journey with her. Rhe tells the characters it will be several weeks before they can leave. She must procure a ship and it needs to be sailed to the coast. When it’s there they will take boats to the sea to meet it.
The characters decide to finish up their business and prepare for the trip.
Kaden goes to see his commander about getting some leave, Alt Leader Bitter seems in a good mood and writes that Kaden will be on leave for a while, but will need to pull guard duty until he leaves. Kadenhe heads back to Kimi’s house to gets some rest.
Grevin goes to see Kennis Kelly and they spend some time trying to learn how to synchronize their magic. He notices that she now seems to have quite a following, most of whom refer to her as “godess.”

He turns to see the Sadakadishian woman that he had the altercation with the other night and has been having the dreams about. He turns to see her and before they can stop themselves they are in each others arms.
Kaden is sleeping in the back room and after pulling all night guard duty, he hears a noise outside, cauciously opening the shutters he sees Arashii and the woman rolling around in the dirt ripping off each others clothes and biting each other while making love. Kaden goes around to the main room and tells Kimi and Violet what he saw. Kimi and Kaden go outside so get a better look at whats goin on, when they come around the corner the woman turns into a bird and flies away. Arashi had no idea what come over him, he goes into the house to clean up.

The characters are resting in Arashies in home. Unlike Kimmi’s house which has had extensive work Arashi’s new place is little more than a couple of rooms cobbled together. The party are resting when there is a knock at the door, it’s Altman Bitter the commander of the local troops. He asks Kaden who his “second” will be in the duel. At first he picks Paladin Marius, but Bitter tells him that choosing a paladin for a second is against the law. Kadens second choice is Alan who agrees and then goes for a walk with Bitter to look for a suitable grave for his friend.
Waiting for Alan to get back the rest of the group decides to go the tavern for a drink. Severl soldiers approach Kaden and ask him if he is the person who will be dueling with Kenna Alexander, when he says “yes” they offer to buy him a drink if he will convey a message to one of their dead loved ones when his is killed in the duel.
Alan returns and tells Kaden tht he has found a good spot for the grave. Kaden and Marius discuss the position of where Kadens soul will go if he is killed. Marius explains that being a person with no god is dangerious on Avalyn. As a godless person Kaden will be shackled to the sword of Alwyn and forced to pull it for all eternity towards the “Heart of the World.”
Back at Arashi’s cabin the party beds down. In the middle of the night Grevin is approached by Kennis Kelly with a proposition. She tells him that she has an idea that they should work on a way to combine their powers. Taking his hand she pulls it away to reveal a small shining gem. The gem lasts but a moment but Grevin can tell that the jewel is some kind of “focus” and if he were to cast a spell through it the effects would be amplified. He watches as the gem shimmers and disappears.
He asks her what it is and she tells him that it is a “focus matrix.” In this case it is not permanent, but with work permanent ones can be constructed. Grevin is interested and asks why she hasn’t approached Mage Jahn about this. Kennis Kelly says that Jahn’s mins is “closed” to such things. Grevin says he will need to think about it.
The next morning comes very quickly and Kaden and the group head to the dueling place. Many soldiers have turned out to see the duel as have a good number of villagers. Mage Jahn is sprinkling some kind of powder on the dueling circle. Kimi is amongst the spectators and hears that the betting is highly against Kaden.
Kaden and Alan approach the circle while Bitter and Kenna Alexander do the same from the other side. Bitters tells them that both combatants will enter the ring and then touch their sword together, after which the fight will begin. They both setp out into the ring and touch swords together. Kaden falls to one knee and apologizes. Kenna Alexander helps him up and accepts, telling him that he needs protection and that he as kenna will accept Kaden into his service for a year. Having no choice Kaden accepts and both of them go over to the waiting feast that has been prepared.
Grevin is approached again by Kennis Kelly, they have a short conversation but it is interrupted as Kenna Alexander and Magister Jahn call the party to the final meeting.
In response to the meeting yesterday Jahn had talked to his masters at the Wharpick Guild. They have allowed the bounty to go up a bit and provided a couple of spells for closing the tunnel should they need to escape. Kenna Alexander sweetens the pot by saying that he knows that some of the party still suffer from the touch of the undead. IF the party will agree to the mages terms he will have a priestess come and heal all of them of the effects of the encounter several days ago. The party agrees and goes to celebrate at the loca bar.
They are turned away from the first one because of Violet and her penchant for singing the geased sone about the death of Palaldin Marcus. At the second bar she promises to restrain herself. She begins to sing a song from her world but is shouted down by the crowd, they want to hear something local. Somone suggests The Woodchopper Song. Viloet is up to the task and keeps the rowdy song going for almost an hour, to the delight of the innkeeper.
Partly drunk and not too interested in what lays ahead of them they head back home. On the way Arashi gets a whiff the “smell” that has been driving him insane. He takes off at a run towards a nearby copse of trees, the party following. Grevin trips and almost falls over. When he looks down he sees that the “furrow” he triped over was actually a foot print of a large beast, a dragon. There is a smashing sound and the party runs towards it when the get to where the sound came from they see the remains of Arashi’s cabin.
Kimi joins them and the continue towards the copse. As they get closer they see something thrashing around in the trees, there is a faint glow in the woods and Arashi turns into a tree in fear. Stepping out of the forest is the Sadakadishian woman he almost murdered in his dream. She runs over to where the tree/Arashi is and suddenly the druid turns into a crow. The woman grabs him and is inturn grabbed by Paladin Marius. In a second the woman also turns into a bird after stabbing Arashii with a long fingernail.
As both avians take flight Kimi tries to take the female bird down and catches it in the chest, the bold passes through the womans bird form doing a little damage to Arashi. The woman falls unconscious to the ground in human form, an arrow sticking our of her chest. The paladin bends over her as the trees erupt and a dragons head sticks out. The creature barks in common…..”Don’t touch her!”

The party rests in the area near the mine. After catching their breath they discover a rune near the spot where the leader of the dead things was. Following the runes directions they discover a cache of weapons and gold as well as the body of Kenna Alexanders son Klep.
As near as they can tell the dead creatures were uncovered in the mines and then killed the miners. Kleps body was corrupted. With heavy back backs from the treasure they party heads back into the town.
The next morning the group goes to see the Kenna. Alexander is distraught by word of the death of his son. He and his family take the body to be properly intered. The group heads back to Kimi’s house for some rest.
Later in the day Kimi kicks the rest of the part out of her house for infringing on her hospitality. The rest of the characters go to the bar and drink their fill. Once again Violet sing the “Death of Marcus” song in the bar as per the geas placed upon her. Alan and Kadin have a drinking contests, Alan loses and soiles the room they were staying in.
The group goes back to see Kenna Alexander, he has with him Jahn the guild mage from the Wharpick guild. Jahns primary job is the watch the wards on the Blister but he has several questions for the party about their latest adventure.
The group tells the story again. Jahn makes them skip ahead to the part about the thaug. He tells them that thaug only exist in the Time before the Barrier and not in the here and now. The party members tell him he is wrong. After a bit of squabbling Jahn offers to pay the party if they will go back to the place they were before and bring back the head of a thaug. The characters scorn the low offering price, Jahn suggests a meeting later after he has talked to his superiors and secured more money.
In the next meeting the price still isn’t enough, Kaden makes a disparaging remark about Kenna Alexander, the kenna challenges Kaden to a duel of honor for the following day.
Before leaving Ararashie takes Kenna Alexander aside and enquires about the possibility of purchasing some land in Mountain Vale. Alexander referes him to his wife who takes care of those matters. Arashi leaves the party as they heads to the bar to go see Kennis Maug, Alexanders wife. She tells him to go and pick out a piece of land and then come back with an offer of service or something equal. She arrainges for him to use an abandoned farm house in the meantime.

Avalyn Adventure #89 Death Waits in the Woods
Marius Paladin
Kimi-Rogue
Arashi Iki-Druid
Alan-Fighter
Violet-Bard
Grevin-Dwarf Mage
Arashi emerges into what can only be a dream. He is high in the air being carried by a dragon. He attempts to talk to the creature but it says nothing. The dragon fly’s higher and higher eventually it lets go of him. Falling in the dream Arashi decides not to see what happens if he hits the earth, he changes into his bird form and sees that the dragon is gone.
Arashi lands back in the valley and finds that the rest of the party in his dream. Paladin Marcus convinces Arashi that he is not dreaming; a dragon did come and steal him from the party. The paladin tells Arashi that they attempted to keep the dragon from taking him but the beast was too powerful. As it’s near midnight the party decides to get some sleep, posting watches.
Grevin, who is on watch sees a green light coming near them. Before he can sound the alarm he is struck dead as is Violet the bard. Alan raises the alarm and the creature, Klep (the apparition they defeated last time) attacks. Kimi fires arrows at the thing while the paladin weathers its undead attacks and fights it hand to hand. Arashi strikes at it using his powers, while Alan is cowed by the presence of the thing.
This form of the undead is much tougher than the last and after several rounds of combat the paladin is near his end. Marius delivers a might blow to the dead flesh but it is for naught as the thing slays him. Alan recovers his wits and attacks the thing as does Arashi and Kimi.
They put the fel creature back into its rest but they have all taken life sapping wounds and three of their comrades have fallen. Kimi performs the “Ritual of the Shining One” and manages to raise Grevin. Paladin Marcus and Violet are still dead. They carry them back towards Mountain Vale.
Part of the way down the slope they encounter a patrol from the village, led by Alt Leader Bitter. The soldier and his group grieve the loss of Paladin Marius. Kimi and Grevin decide to let the soldiers take the bodies back to the village. They along with Arashi and Alan will go and see if there is any treasure in the mines that were in the valley.
Despite the hour the treasure hunters scour the remaining mines and decide to follow one that seems to be deeper than the others. They notice that the miners had broken into a strange cave. The cave seems to have been totally dug out by hand. They travel for several hours until they come to a site where there has been a cave in. Arashi is able to move most of the rubble out of the way and they continue.
Paladin Marius wakes up as a Manthootian woman is kissing him. She is wearing the tangled wig of seaweed that the priestesses of Elder Marcia wear and her teeth are filed to points. Bolting up he sees that he is in Kimi’s house along with Van Rhe and several other Manthootians. Rhe informs him that the priestess is from the local “hearth.” She tells him that she hopes that this will dispel any bad blood between them, then she has the priestess raise Violet. The paladin has a long discussion with Van Rhe, then he and Violet decide to get some sleep.
In the morning they are awoken by Alt Leader Bitter coming by to see how they are. They eat a hearty breakfast and then make for the valley in the mountains.
The treasure hunters continue down into the deep cavern. Eventually they come to a natural tunnel which leads out onto the side of a mountain range. From where they are they see that the valley is clouded in a yellow mist.
They follow the trail down into the valley and end up in an ancient fort. Arashi feels the same way about the forest that he felt about the forest that surrounded Morgan’s Hold. The difference is that the mist here is not being kept out by the power of the goddess Chaldisaya. Grevin mentions that the look of the building means that it is about the same age and possibly the same era as Morgan’s Hold. The rocks and such seem similar as well.
The party wonders if they have stumbled on another place similar to where Morgan’s Hold was. Before they can ponder it too much Alan sees a couple of figures coming down the path from the mountain. Marius and Violet are reunited with the rest of the party.
Despite all of them looking no treasure is found in the fort. Alan who is watching the gate see’s what he things is a dark skinned bald man at the tree line watching him, he goes to tell the others and is backed up by Arashi who says he saw the person also. Arashi clarifies that the thing watching them was a Thaug and that they should leave.
As the party is heading up the mountain trail they see a wave of thaug overrunning the fort. The characters make the cave minutes before the demonic horde. Arashi uses several spells to collapse the tunnel behind them. They quickly exit the tunnel and seal it again for good measures.

Avalyn Adventure # 87 What is found……
Marius-Paladin
Kimi-Rogue
Arashi Iki-Druid
Kaden-Fighter
Alan-Fighter
Alan the fighter materializes on the world. He finds himself standing in a forest with a beautiful woman dressed all in blue. She tells him that she is the goddess Chaldisaya and brought him to the world to fight an ancient evil called Distaria (The Voice from the East.)
As they are talking Alan notices that the woman has six fingers on each hand. She bids him good night and leaves him alone in the forest.
After wandering around for a while Alan comes upon a lone house. Knocking on the door he is introduced to the party. The group is discussing what’s happening with Arashi. They decide to outfit the next day and then head into the hills in the south to look into the mysterious deaths.
Alan tells the brief story about what he found when he arrived and paladin Marius is intrigued (Chaldisaya is his goddess.) The paladin and some of the party think that there are problems with Alan’s story. Marius points out that Chaldisaya doesn’t usually appear with six fingers. Unable to answer the questions the party beds down for the night.
The next morning is Welock, the traditional market day so the party goes into the village to buy things. Kimi introduces some of the new people to the local cuisine and Arashi buys a rock that appears to have eyes on it.
They meet up with Kenna Alexander. He is escorting the woman that Alan saw last night through the market. Introductions are made and she is introduced as Kennis Kelly Raider/Sailon one of the daughters of the legendary Sylvia Sailon the Jkennis and patron saint of the kingdom.
They leave the market and Marius now understands what happened, both he and Kimi relate that Kennis Kelly is know to be more than a bit mad…often proclaiming herself a goddess in her own right.
The party loads up and heads into the south looking for both the killer of Kenna Alexander’s men and the possible location of the woman from Arashi’s dream.
Most of the day is spent climbing up the cliffs and following game trails that lead to nowhere. As the evening draws near they come across what looks like a cave, when they enter it they notice that it’s actually just a shallow overhand that hides a small valley.
In the valley they see an abandoned miner’s cabin and that the walls of the valley are lined with mines. As they get closer they see that one of the trees has been sculpted to look like a giant tree monster. The party fans out to look for treasure.
Alan finds a slag pile and begins to dig though it, he finds a body. The corpse is slightly bloated and has black orbs for eyes. Kaden suggests in strong language that they burn it just as Alan uncovers another one.
Kaden finished building a pyre and now there are several bodies from the slag heap. They throw them in to the flames and one comes alive and attempts to crawl out of the flames, but is consumed by the fire before it can get out.
As the last of the day light fades from the valley the party sees many people coming out of the mines, black smoke comes out of their mouths like dark tongues. In the entrance to the valley a creature that looks like the Kenna’s son rises from the ground and blocks the parties retreat.

Kimi-Rogue
Arashi Iki-Druid

The party arrives in Mountain Vale without incident. Van Rhee heads to the Manthootian encampment and the rest of the group goes see Kenna Alexander Sailon, the military leader of the village.
Kenna Alexander welcomes Marius to Mountain Vale and says that he is glad to see him and to a lesser extend the others. He relates to them the story of what happened to his son several years ago (for more details see Adventure Log 40.) Although his son was supposedly raised from the dead, he never seemed the same and eventually had to be exercised by the church. He died soon after the ritual.
The people who died at the time of his son’s original death all looked the same way, in a tight fetal position. Kenna Alexander has heard of something up in the hills killing people. The bodies have had a similar look to them and he would like Marius and his party to take a look into the matter.
The Kenna makes an offhand remark that in the near future the capitol in Sylvia’s Rest will be relocated across the inland sea and a governor will be appointed over the larger city….and it will probably be him. He tells the characters that if they do this for him he will look with favor on them when his is promoted.
Tired and a bit stunned the characters make their way to Kimi’s house. After unlocking the house and settling, in Kimi retreats to her bedroom and the others get the spare rooms. Kaden decides that the couch looked more comfortable than the floor so he bunks in the living room.
Kaden is awoken in the middle of the night by the sound of a naked Arashi trying to get out of the front door. It appears that he was sleepwalking and was unable to lift the bar.
When Arashi wakes up he tells Kaden that he was having a dream that he could smell something so fascinating that it beckoned him to it. Kaden decides to pull the couch closer to the door and everyone goes back to sleep.
Later on Arashi has another dream, in this one he is flying then he lands in a cave. In the cave is a Sadakadishian woman. The dream flashes forward and he finds himself strangling her. The dream comes to an end as he is slicing her up with a knife.
With a racket Arashi wakes up everyone in the living room. It seems that he has assumed bird form (he’s a druid) and flew out of the chimney, although it could have been a dream, no one is sure.
Half of the group decides to go looking for the woman now in case she is injured and needs help. They search to the south of the village and Arashi finds a strip of clothing with blood on it. He can tell that the blood belongs to her. Despite being physically grossed out by it he finds himself eating the cloth. Arashi cannot believe what his has done, but it did taste good.

Marius-Paladin
Kimi-Rogue
Grevin-Dwarf Mage
Violet-Bard
Arashi Iki-Druid
Kaden-Fighter
Everyone heads in different directions but agrees to meet up at the bar near Lissa’s.
Marius goes looking for Van Linda and talks to her for a while. Marius’s discussion with Van Linda goes well. She tells him how proud of him she is. She tells him that the life of a paladin is hard but she feels that he is up to the task.
In the bar Violet stands up and begins singing a song that tells of the death of paladin Marcus (a very tragic tale). Violet doesn’t know the song and is confused as to what has happened. The party figures out that it was a curse put on the bar by The Voice from the East. Origionally it was put on a bard named Fionn, but it seems to effect bards that are in one of the bars that Fionne preformed in.
Marius is upset to hear his father maligned, he goes to see the high priestess of Chaldisaya and asks her to remove the curse from the bar. The priestess refuses saying that it is a waist of the ladies precious energy.
Kaden samples the wares at Lissa’s as does Kimi. Grevin meets Kenna Tandy Raidier again and is offered a job as a “flying dwarf.” He tries to refuse but Tandy is very persuasive and tells him that he will come for him tomorrow.
Kimi is at Lissa’s with a female Ta named Ulia. While the Ta is getting dinner for them a Manthootian woman comes in. She is dressed traditionally and has a familiar look about her. She says that her name is Rhe and she is the advisor to Lady Lynn Katrina Marcia Leviathan, the leader of the Manthootians formerly of Red Isle. She tells Kimi that she has some information about herself that Kimi doesn’t know since she herself was at one time also a captive of Distaria (The Voice from the East.)
Kimi is skeptical. After a long discussion Rhe tells her what she wants. Rhe would like to look at her friend Kevins library. She knows that he was an expert on Lords of the Starry Sky technology and she would like to read his notes. Kimi refuses until Rhe tells her that she knows a lot about Kimi, including about her sister and brother. Kimi tells her that she doesn’t have either a sister or brother….Rhe tells her she does, but the memory has been taken from her.. Kimi agrees to let her look at the library.
When Kimi gets back to the bar (with Rhe in tow) she tells the party that they will be traveling with Rhe. Marius guesses who she is (the mother of Van Linda) and tells Kimi that it is a bad thing. Rhe is known as an “evil influence.”
Despite his best arguments the party decides to go with Kimi. Marius decides to tag along. The next day Kimi is presented with the bill for the expedition (Rhe asked her to pay for it.)
Grevin gets his flying lesson and realizes that maybe Tandy isn’t as crazy as he seems. He gets back to the group just as they are about to leave.
The start of the journey is without incident. They stop at Ming Keep and pay their road tax, then travel through the forest. They spend the first night in Kida and Violet sings the song again. The next day they leave the Southern Trade road and head to Mountain Vale.

The characters decide to take some of the ghost soldiers and make an assault on the “Gullet.” They pack the device they took from Kevin’s body and head into the area where the Jag Vocs met the creatures
The trip is uneventful until the reach the opening of the gullet. They find the tower called Morgan’s Sword. The tower is an ancient structure with made from a single piece of basalt. There is a large silver oval on the face of the tower that points towards the direction that they must go. The tower appears to be empty.
Getting deeper into the valley they notice that there is a subtle wind coming from the direction they are heading. As they go they notice that the wind is “chipping” away at the bodies of the ghost warriors, a stiff wind suddenly comes up and two of the ghost warriors are destroyed. The rest of the ghost warriors are sent back to Morgan’s Shield.
The party continues and passed a large floating eye as well as rocks and such that breathe. Eventually they come to a wall made of crystal that resembles the device they got from the village. Putting the glass like object on the wall it disappears and there is a loud metallic sound as everything goes black.
When they can see again they notice that they’re swimming is a turbulent sea. A boat that looks like a Chinese junk is heading their way. They are helped on board by a man who introduces himself as Darnoth Manx, the keep of the Hall of 10,000 realities.
Darnoth explains that they are aboard a demon called the Tooth of Lume, between realities. They ask what has happened to their reality and are told that it is safe and they will soon return to it. After giving them some of the best chocolate cake in the multiverse he returns them to Sylvia’s Rest.
The characters are stunned to find themselves back in Sylvia’s Rest. As they walk around they run into Cirril Sailon, the son of the Emror and one of the three paladins of Chaldisaya.
Cirril laments to the party that he is never allowed to do anything adventurous despite being a full paladin like Marius. He accompanies them to the manor where they get paid for the Gold Trail adventure.
The party makes their way to an inn and gets some rest.

The diary is that of a Deseratan Soldier. It is written is Deseratan so only Kimi, Kevin and Marius can read it. Kimi sits down and reads it out loud:
It is the Year of the Lady 140, third week of Aner and I Godfrey E Gormet do Su Alt leader of the 2nd alt of the 10th Deserata met with Jkenna Junico today. Although young in years I still trust him, with my life. There are those who blame him for the attack at Stevens Hold but having been there I can hold him blameless.
Second week of Anbis, Mondya
I have been granted an audience with Emror Junico today and discussed with him the letter I had sent him about the formation of the order of Morgan. He has agreed to charter our order with 100 Dia wheels. The lady has smiled on us. I have much work to do.
Third week of AnDen, Delos
I have been too busy to write. I have enlisted several of my comrades from the old 10th. All have taken the vows of Jag Voc with Myrone but they have been released by Kommanden Gin E Thal to help form the core of our order. Our happy order now consists of
Jag Voc Barnbas of Sylvia Way
Jag Voc Talas of New Rock
Jag Voc Jeneck Deserata
Jag Voc Carathon Sylvias Rest
Jag Voc Ne Marius of Alligoria
Jag Voc Ne Marcus of Deserata
Jag Voc Ne Faramiere of Alligoria
As we know that Arc Morgan will soon be Santal we have chosen to take a page from the ladies own book for our first hold. As Ne Santal Morgan fought evil, so shall we go to the very place of its inception. A place where even the Hin Gon’s Peacelords fear to tread.
First day of AnJun
With my Jag Vocs and 20 sword brothers we have left Sylvias Rest. We have suitable remounts and some lay people as well to bolster our ranks.
Fifth day of Anjun Candya
Four days of light traveling have brought us to Kida. The pace is maddeningly slow but it is the best that the wagons can make. Jag Voc Carathon said a blessing at the shrine of Junico’s beloved. We will stay here a day or so before moving on.
We could take the road to the next town but instead have decided to strike out for our target directly. Jag Voc Ne Marcus and several sword brothers have gone to secure provisions and will meet us on the trail.
Third week of Anjun, Samis
We left the road two days ago and struck out cross country, the going has been tough with the wagons breaking down. Several of the sword brothers have brought in game. A merry feast in the woods this eve.
First day of BisAn, Welock
At the edge of Deathwood today. Carathon Ne Marcus and the sword brothers have returned. They have brought others that wish to start anew. A young man by the name of Yourin has joined us. He is a Durn from the town of Bywater, it will be good to have a priest with us. The woods are truly different, almost otherworldy. Going has been a bit better. We were we not made of stronger stuff this would be unnerving.
Second day of BisAn, Chaldia.
As we camped for the night we encountered a patrol of the local Peace Lord, they Grey. The informed us that there is an ancient fort in the Deathwoods that might be of use to us. They will journey with us tomorrow. They have told us that their lord will soon be seeding the place to a new lord, the Red. In some ways this is to our favor since it’s know that the Red has been a friend to Deserata and her people. However Stand Town is far from here and even with the pass that the Sado’s know of it is over a hundred miles away. It is too far for trading. We will continue trading with Dymond Hold and Martby Morlan
Fourth Day of BisAn, Samis.
We have been blessed by the location of this ancient fort. I believe that it was built during the initial invasion of Sadakadish during the time of Goslor and the Witch Kenna Absolum. Santal Sylvia herself probally stayed here when she defeated Absolum and cast him into the abyss. We have named the place Morgans Sword, long may it be held at the throat of evil.
Sixth Day of BisAn, Moondya
Durn Yourin told me today that there is a priest gate in the basement. This validates my thoughts that the manor is indeed older than the second age. He says that he doesn’t know how to activate the gate, but will try to find out its workings.
Ninth Day of BisAn,Chaldia
After a brief foraway we are back to Morgans Sword in strength. Three days ago the Jag Vocs and I rode out to look at this strange land.
There is a range of hills to the north and south of us which we believe runs into a valley at the throat of which we know not what exists. There is a smaller fortress several miles from the main manse of Morgans Sword. It is merely a tower but it is positioned in a way to give us warning when the fel surge out. I have stationed a sub alt of troops there with several bullroarers to give us warning. The men have dubbed the new base Morgans Trumpet
Supply train from Martby Morlan arrived today. We will have to bring in fodder and grain for the horses. Jag Voc Faramere who was escorting the train said that they were attacked many times by sheesh and the like. We will have to make sure that supply caravans are well guarded. This will cost but money is nothing compared to glory for The Lady
Den An
We have been at Morgans Sword for almost two months. The air is fetid, but it is a good reminder of why we are here. Evil creatures seem without end in the surrounding land, so much so that we have to go out groups and well armed.
Andur Yorin says that what is in the basement is indeed a priest gate, however it is locked and we have no idea where it goes. He says that there is something else here….a strong power has been invested in these walls, that he cannot fathom.
Several more skirmishes with tristed creatures from this area ove the last couple of Weeks. One Sword Brother killed two wounded.

The third month at Mogan’s Sword. The sheesh of this place continue to attack but any soldier worth the Lady’s grace is a match for them. We have had some woundings but nothing serious since the last death.
There is concern that wounds do not heal right here and I am glad that The Lady has sent us Durn Yourin.
We have decided that we shall attack the place beyond Morgans Trumpet to see what stuff the creatures are made of.
It is the third day since the feast of Jag Voc Myrhone and we have reached the gullet of the monster as it is. We have decided to place ourselves in harms way as a test of our order as well as a test of the powers of the Voice form the East.
We saw that beyond the gullet was a light and sky of purest silver…we saw it for mere moments It was a if there was a rip in the air itself. Scores of monsters of every description assaulted us. It was hard fighting and we lost several Sword Brothers as well as Jag Voc Barnabas, Talas and Marius. They died taking a stand against the creatures so that the rest of us could escape.
The creatures howl outside the gates and several which we believe to be demodium called Thauge have lept over the walls. The creatures were slain but at great price.
We are truly besieged. We saw remenants of a supply wagon in amongst the beasts. Large creatures wait at the edge of the mists.
Several Sword Brothers joined us today. They were escorting the caravan and were attacked by twisted creatures and such. None of the wagons made it. The soldiers from Morgans Trumpet fought their way to us and are now here. It was good that they are safe but I fear that we may not be able to hold with out more troops.
The horses sicken, this is something that we did not recokon with. It is of no matter, we are not going anywhere but it limits our mobility. I have sent a rider to Dymond Hold for help. The rider is to make there way to Sylvias Rest if possible.
All of the horses are dead.
There is just me and a hand full of us left. I know that 3 are dead. They have overrun is in the night. The Thaug have been using the priest gate. Several of the brothers have gone through to destroy them and or block the way however Thaug have been seen going through the gate still and I have seen nothing of my brothers. If I go through I will not be able to turn the gate off, so I will stay here and close the gate. I will hide the key.
After the reading that party realized that they are relatively close to where they want to be however they have no idea in which direction to travel. The group spends most of the day look for the “key” the warrior was talking about.
Violet and Kaden break open a few of the crypts they have found in the basement. One of the crypts has never been used.
Later in the day while looking in one of the building Marius sees a man walking about the manor. They chase, capture and question him but he seems too crazy to answer their questions.
That night they take refuge in the celler, the creatures from the surrounding countryside invade the manor but cannot get at the characters in the basement.
After much thought it occurs to the party that the “key” was on a thing but a person and that person was the priest mentioned in the diary. The question is where is the priest hiding. Noticing a misaligned slab on the floor the characters pull it up to find the body of the priest. He was buried alive under the large flagstone. There was a small tunnel for him to hide in but apparently he died from lack of air.
That night they all have strange dreams.
Grevins Dream 1
Grevin wakes up and finds himself in a damp tunnel. There is a sound behind him, when he turns and sees a person who looks like Kimi only a bit older. She wears an eye patch over one eye. She apologizes for taking so long. She explains that “he” didn’t make it and they should be going. Grevin asks her what is going on and who “he” was. Kimi explains that they are under the lair of The Voice From The East and the “He” was Grevins son.
Kimi’s Dream 1
Kimi finds herself in a dark cavern. A body lays at her feet. Pulling her dagger out of it’s back she turns it over and it’s Grevin. A voice booms out of the darkness and thanks her for helping it. It tells her that it (The Voice from The East) is glad she is back with it.
Violets Dream 1
Violet wakes up and she is sitting in a room stuffed with books and sheet music, there is a leather collar fastened around her throat. The door opens and an old man comes in. He is wearing rags and also a leather collar around his throat. He tells her that she has several more victory songs to compose for the “Voice.”
It seems that evil has won and she is a thrall in its service.
Kadens Dream
Kaden wakes up and he is on the wall of a besieged city. Along with him are his son and grandson. As he looks over the battlements he sees that there is a sea of thaug below them. He has a second dream where he meets Grevin, the two of them discuss that fact that they are dreaming.
The paladin decides to try some holy energy to the gate…suddenly it opens up and they have a vision of the godess Chaldiasya. She tells them that she needs them to defend this place and evernutally close the gate in the wilderness. To help them she brings Jag Voc Gormet back to life along with many of his men. She tells the party that they are to help them defend the manor.
The next day the party has the idea to take out the device they found on the Gold Trail in a town that seemed to be under a time stop. Kevin had mentioned that the device seems to be some kind of “gate” device. When the device is applied to the Priest gate it shuts it off. The party believes that they have found their weapon/device to close off the gate that is letting the thaug into the world. They plan their assault.

Adventure Log #82 (A Win)
Adventure Log #82 (A Win)
Kevin-Manthootian Mage
Marius-Paladin
Kimi-Rogue
Grevin-Dwarf Mage
Violet-Bard
Arashi Iki-Druid
Kaden-Fighter
The fight is joined but several of the party are knocked out and so the remaining characters grab their friends and head into the catacombs, locking the steel door behind them. As the thaug scream on the other side of the door the cage in the room (which was determined to be a gate) flashes with energy and a warrior steps out. Introducing himself as Kaden he agrees to join the party.
Seeing that the gate and the door appear to be the way out the party tries other options. They find that the cistern actually goes somewhere but you need to swim underwater to get there. After a quick discussion they decide to have a go at the under water tunnel.
The other side appears to be a continuation of the tunnel complex. After traveling for several miles underground they see light. The tunnel opens into a small thaug outpost and the characters can see that their missing stuff in the common area. They quickly formulate a plan and attack.
The attack goes off very well, with the party destroying the thaug without a loss to them selves. They recover their items and then head back in to the tunnel, rather than risk traveling through thaug territory. When they arrive back at the cavern they find the door still locked. Kevin notices that the cage gate’s settings have been changed, however they all agree to go into the gate anyway.
They come out in a subbasement of a castle. When they make their way to the surface, they find a small walled manor, surrounded by a pail yellow mist. After looking around they come across a diary of one of the inhabitance.
